Back and back again.

Ok we are back- and its Sunday afternoon. Back to what we have been up to-We saw some beautiful rainforests and waterfalls in areas that are under World Heritage Listing. Unsure if this happened but I did read a while back that they were revising the lists, and wondered what was going to happen to some of our amazing areas like we visited in many regions. Ness and I took lots of photos but are hoping to go back in the next month.
We then travelled down to the Gold Coast- stayed in a lovely place in Gin Gin, NOT. It was noise due to all the trucks and way over priced. Don’t you love those places? Anyway we made it to the Gold Coast. We were there to surprise a friend from Darwin for her 50th Birthday. “Happy Birthday Cassie”. She didn’t recognise us when we turned up- it must be old age catching up. Enjoyed our time, did the shopping thing but didn’t buy much.
Went caravan looking, saw a really nice one made by a small local company, sort of in our price range but Ness liked the “Blue sky”. We will continue to look as we decide to keep the old girl a little longer.

We stopped at Rockhampton for two nights. Did a historical walk around town- love old buildings. We also went for a tour at Mount Morgan. The tour included a drive around the town, then a look at the closed down gold mine. The tour also incorporated a visit to the “Fire Clay Mine”, what makes it more unique is there are dinosaur prints in the roof of sandstone. They are different sizes, grouped and a single animal. The two hour tour had a bit everything, run by a local family daughter and father. We would highly recommend it to anyone who visits the area but do it soon as the mine is reopening and they are unsure what will happen when this takes place.

Our next stop was Bowen. Bowen was the site where “Australia” was filmed, so yes the buildings can be seen. We went back to the beaches, sunsets- Mother Nature is always calling. Our accommodation was a cabin in a small caravan park- suitable for what we wanted. The next day we did a little more sightseeing and then made our way back to Townsville.

Back in Townsville we decided to update our training. Ness is doing her Forklift licence next week and I am doing the Diploma in Disability Work. Ness has a lot more work than I have to do so in August I will be doing Training and Assessment Cert IV. With that sorted- It was back to what are we going to do next. No answer yet.

Ness and I took her niece and nephew to Townsville Show yesterday. We had a great time; we both felt that Alice Show was better. Sorry Townsville.

Anyway that brings us to today and today we are doing nothing. I think Scarlia is happy to have us back as she has been very cuddly lately. Catch you all later.
