Murgon

We are still in Murgon. I am writing this outside in the sun, which is lovely but not good to see the screen. Ness is doing the washing. We are going to Boat Mountain NP later and then go see my dad. The day before we drove to Gympie- I was told Gympie saved Queensland from ruin gold was found just at the right moment. Very hilly town and spread out. Like many country towns lots of empty shops in the main street. We drove around lost for a while then after going past the railway line a number of times we gave up. Of course that's when we found the main street,we parked and went for a walk. They still have a town clock that chimes the hours- so end our trip to Gympie.
Its funny how we can go to some towns and spend days looking/sightseeing etc and some towns nothing there is no pull, we cant find a reason to stay. Sorry Gympie you are one of those towns.
Yesterday we drove to Harvey Bay to see Red and Brian. We met them in Darwin. Stayed in contact via email, they stopped travelling to stay in Harvey Bay with their two dogs. We had a great visit it was nice to see some people never change. Hi Brian! We will be back in September.
My Dad and Bev came for a drive,so we were able to spend the day with them as well. This included having lunch at the Harvey Bay RSL- great fish. We haven't really spent any time in Harvey but being a popular place for family holidays I don't think we really need to go back. Did notice that at least it wasn't going up like the Gold Coast(yet) the highest apartments were 5 stories. We visited the beach- no whales. I nearly forgot we went looking at caravans, still leaning towards the "Supreme". One thing all 4 of us noticed at the two places we visited a lot of the vans have mouldy smell in the cupboards. A little more expensive that down south.
We will keep looking, we are also tossing around the idea about refitting the old girl and keep her a bit longer; not sure what we will do yet.
The caravan park was nearly empty when we left yesterday morning to come back to a different park there was vehicles everywhere. Campers caravans popups tents campervans, a club had descended on the park. A little closed shop as we are not part of the club last night around the fire, a bit more friendly this am. Don't know where from or anything, they have just left in a group so maybe we will find out to night.
Well I am off hope all the Sydneyites are staying dry, enjoy your day. Catch you later.
